Particularly love the shout out to Thanksgiving nachos—a tradition in our family! ❤️ Embracing my agency has been life-changing AND I find I then need to be careful not to take on the project of healing my whole family all on my own! It is complex learning to accept limits/learning edges in ourselves and our family members simultaneously. The beautiful and nuanced dance of interdependence!

Appreciate your insightful comment and you. I am sure the nachos reference came from a conversation we have had. I think my family and I are headed towards a similar meal this Thanksgiving. It is very difficult to balance learning edges as we are often moving at different paces. Sometimes, it feels like leap frogging. For me, an interest in growth and learning is what makes me feel hopeful - it doesnt' have to mirror mine - in fact it's wonderful when we each bring different learnings to the table.

"I could start right away by making different choices, having conversations, and setting boundaries that honored my time, energy, and dreams."

That last one--"dreams"-- is one that I always forget. Just because you're part of a family doesn't mean that your dreams arent important. Thank you for writing this!
